How to Play Chinese Checkers
Chinese Checkers is a race game. Your goal is to move every one of your pieces from your home triangle into the destination triangle on the opposite side of the board before the other players do.
1. Set Up the Game
Chinese Checkers supports 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 players. On CloudGamesApp, players join a room first, and the board layout adjusts automatically before the host starts the game.
2. Move One Piece Per Turn
On each turn, pick one of your pieces and do one of the following:
- Move it to one adjacent empty space.
- Hop over a neighboring piece into the empty space immediately beyond it.
- Chain multiple hops in one turn if each next landing space is open.
3. Use Hops Efficiently
Hops are the core of strong play. A long hop chain moves a piece much farther than a simple step and often creates the best progress toward the target triangle.
- Look for hop sequences before making a short move.
- Keep your pieces close enough to support each other.
- Avoid leaving isolated pieces behind.
4. How to Win
You finish when all of your pieces are inside the target triangle. In multiplayer games on CloudGamesApp, the game can continue after one player finishes so the remaining players can keep competing until only one unfinished player remains.
5. How to Start Playing Online
- Open the game on CloudGamesApp.
- Create a room.
- Share the room code or link with friends.
- Wait for players to join.
- Have the host click Start Game.
6. Beginner Tips
- Move groups, not single stragglers.
- Plan turns ahead for hop chains.
- Keep lanes into your destination triangle open.
- In 4 to 6 player games, pay attention to traffic created by others.
